The Lancet (zu deutsch „Die Lanzette“) ist eine der ältesten (gegründet 1823) medizinischen Fachzeitschriften der Welt, die ein Peer-Review („Begutachtung durch Ebenbürtige“, Verfahren zur Beurteilung von wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten im Wissenschaftsbetrieb) einsetzen.
