In der online-Ausgabe der Fachzeitschrift AIDS wurden Empfehlungen zum Umgang mit akuter Hepatitis C bei HIV-Infizierten veröffentlicht.
Die Empfehlungen sind Ergebnis einer Konsensus-Konferenz zur akuten Hepatitis-C-Infektion bei HIV-Positiven. Das European AIDS Treatment Network (NEAT) lud zu einem Meeting am 21. Mai 2010 in Paris ein, an dem u.a. Vertreter der European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS) Hepatitis Group, der European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), der European Study Group on Viral Hepatitis (ESGVH) der European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) sowie der European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG) teilnahmen.
Die neuen Empfehlungen „Acute hepatitis C in HIV-infected individuals – recommendations from the NEAT consensus conference“ beschäftigen sich u.a. mit der Definition akuter Hepatitis C, dem Screening auf HCV-Infektion, Möglichkeiten der Risiko-Reduzierung, sowie Behandlungsmöglichkeiten der akuten Hepatitis-C-Infektion.
